Punch writes home

An update, penned by Punch, formerly of New Hampshire, sent in by his owner and admirer Jan Moller.

Greetings to friends at Fairhill Farm:

Last fall my family and I moved from New Hampshire to Wisconsin so I could be closer to my toddler-sized grand-nephews. I enjoy having them over to visit me.

I am still going for my morning walk, love a ride in the car and have a new not-so-high-off-the-floor bed on which to ease my 15+ year old body. I have my girls, Sue and Jan, well trained although sometimes they forget that I like mostly treats or chicken with just a little bit of soft kibble and that meal time is whenever I want it to be.

The girls at the Pet Salon think I am the best behaved poodle ever and they are gentle and patient when they bath and clip me; they understand that, for me, standing for long periods is kinda tough.

Hope all is good at the farm and that all the puppies give their new families as much joy and laughter as my girls say I have done for them!

Love,
Punch

It’s spring & frog hunting season is here!

Punch frog huntingGreetings from New Hampshire.

Here’s our boy Punch thrilled that the frogs are back. At 14+ years old he still loves spending his afternoons on pond patrol. When I say afternoon I don’t mean just a quick check of the brook and ponds but hours of walking the pond edges or back and forth across the brook. At his age he is a bit wobbly and sometimes comes in with a tail full of mud from having sat down unexpectedly but he is having a ball!

Punch Celebrates 14th Birthday on Superbowl Sunday

Fairhill Farm SBF My Punch celebrated his 14th birthday on Sunday February 1st. While the locals were busy watching the Superbowl we celebrated what really matters – Our Poodle. He chose his special dinner, topped with hot dog, and we sang happy birthday. Punch does so like a good tune.

For the 14th time thank you for letting this pup come to live with us. He continues to make us laugh, be annoying as all get-out, and cheerfully spreads his “Punch-iness” where ever he goes. Here’s a photo from last summer where Punch is happily hunting frogs in his pond and another from a few days ago.

Punch Enjoys a Welcomes Spring in New England

This year it feels really good to have some warmth and sunshine, even if it brings out all the black flies!

Punch is thirteen and becoming somewhat of an old geezer – a little slower and a more frequent napper. I’ve included some photos: one shows Punch with his “pack” of friends hiking in the woods and in the other Punch shares a drink from the stream with “his dog” Fiona.

Just wanted to say I have so enjoyed watching the latest litter of puppies grow via the posted videos! I especially like seeing them outside in the snow…reminded me of the first photo you sent me of my Punch when he was a wee pup! Almost 13 years later and he still loves the snow—although its best if the path is shoveled or if someone goes first! But with a jacket on he’s happy to sit on a pile of snow and watch the world go by! Currently, he is beside me on the couch as I work on the laptop.

I know that all the pups will find great homes and folks will tell you how grateful they are to have a Fairhill Farm Poodle!  I know we are.

Happy Christmas to you and yours,

Jan and Susie
