All is well with Fairhill Farm Joli Seaweed” who will be eleven years old Feb 26th.
He is a great pet and is still full of vigor and fun. He lives a wonderful life here in Port Joli and has a large area that he roams. Luckily our summer neighbors like him as his daily route includes a stroll across our property to the shore, a check out of the beach, down a lane-way and then he trots back the road.
Seaweed sees himself as the great defender especially since my husband is overseas teaching and both our kids are in university. When my friends visit he is kind with them but he will run and get his favorite toy when they come inside our home and then take it to them growling all the time as if to say “You can come in, but do not try to take my toys”. With strangers he will bark loudly and position himself between them and the door.
In the photo he looks rather scruffy, however he is clean and mat free and his name is “Seaweed”, after-all.

Oliver at his new home in Colorado
What a remarkable dog you have placed in my world! Oliver is exceptional in every way. He loves the snow, I cannot keep him out of it and it is hysterical to watch. Tomorrow I am taking him on his first x-country skiing lesson with the two big poodles, we shall see how many times he leaps on my skis and knocks me down. Just wanted you to know how much he is appreciated and how extraordinary he is.

There is nothing like a big hug for comfort on a foggy day in St. John’s
New Rules! The CDC (Center for Disease Control) in the USA passed new regulations for dogs crossing into the USA this summer. There is a four week waiting period from the time of rabies vaccination until the animal can officially cross the border. For a puppy the earliest a rabies vaccine can be given is age 12 weeks. That means they cannot unite with new owners until they are at least 16 weeks old.
New owner Ann of Steamboat Springs, Colorado was anxiously waiting for Oliver when he arrived in Calgary, AB the day of his 16 week birthday. They traveled from there to Colorado in a mutual hug.
Oliver finally arrives in the arms of his new “mom” – a happy new-union!
