Gabriele is thriving and today weighs 20 pounds. She is happy and bouncy and much prefers people to other dogs. She has learned to sit and lie down and to come, especially if she suspects there may be a treat involved.
I took her for puppy grooming ten days ago, which went very well – no fuss with grooming and is interested in watching other dogs on the grooming table. She is house trained with only the odd accident when in a new part of the house.
All in all, we are very happy with each other.
Here are some photos from the recent wanderings of Finn & Lucy.
This is a section of the east coast trail called Shoal Bay.
All the ferns are starting to turn color and the birch trees are not far behind.
The CKC registration arrived today. We want to thank you again for such a wonderful puppy. Honestly I do believe she is the smartest puppy we have ever owned. The words she understands seem to increase daily. She has us wrapped around her sweet paws!
We started puppy school on Tuesday and have five more sessions to go. She seems to have aced the first lesson…next week loose leash walking We practice every day so I think she will be ahead of her peers yet again, but it may well be possible I am biased!
Abby had her first visit to a groomer last week and I think it made her look older, but everyone we meet while walking comment on how beautiful she is.

Maya is doing very well. She is sleeping through the night without a sound. She has only had a couple accidents in the house – our own fault for not quite following her signals. She’s a very happy girl who is excited to see us when we get home. She was a little afraid of the alpaca and the goats up the road when we went for a walk last night but she was warming up to the neighbors dog. Overall she’s fitting in quite well and she’s going to have a happy life here.
